SHOOTING of a BRAZILIAN FEATURE FILM at the HOTEL VILA SELVAGEM
During 15 days, the hotel de charme Vila Selvagem received the cast and crew of the new film from Brazilian director Hugo Carvana: "Não se preocupe, nada vai dar certo" (Litt. translation: And don't worry, nothing will be OK).
Several scenes were shot in the hotel compound. Pontal de Maceió, Canoa Quebrada and Aracati also served as scenery. "The choice of location could be more appropriate because the beauty of the landscapes and beaches of this region of the Ceará State have no equal," commented the director.
Co-produced by Globo Films, this comedy-thriller tells the story of two actors who are involved in a plot of murder and corruption during a tour of stand-up comedy in the state of Ceará, Brazil. Flavia is an unscrupulous journalist and is the declared enemy of Tarcisio Meira. The screenplay is by Paulo Halm.
The cast of the film, that just terminated shooting in Rio de Janeiro, includes Gregório Duvalier interpreting Lalau, the main character, Flavia Alessandra in the role of the villain, and Tarcisio Meira who comes back to the big screen after fifteen years of theater and television. The theatrical release is planned for the end of the year or early 2011.
